Bring your body, mind, and spirit together to live a better life.
In this episode of the Beauty of Conflict, Susan and CrisMarie interview Maria Victoria Albina (she/they), who talks about the somatic, cognitive, and breathwork approaches she teaches to have a felt sense of emotions expressed in the body. To expand one’s window of bodily dignity, Maria Victoria pulls from places of discomfort to grow one kitten step at a time. They will guide listeners through a breathing meditation session to feel their emotions’ presence in their bodies and befriend them. Maria Victoria also speaks about her program for humans socialized as women to connect their mind, body, and spirit, where they move past their codependent, perfectionist, and people-pleasing thought habits and live a life with more joy, passion, and presence.
Tune in to this episode to learn from Maria Victoria about how different ways to approach one’s emotions can open many new opportunities within oneself for a happier life!
About Maria Victoria Albina
Maria Victoria Albina (she/they) is a master certified somatic life coach, UCSF-trained family nurse practitioner, and breathwork meditation guide with a passion for helping humans socialized as women realize that they are their own best healers by reconnecting with their bodies and minds so they can break free from codependency, perfectionism, and people-pleasing to reclaim their joy. She spent the first 30 years of their life stuck in codependent and perfectionist thinking, being mean, often without even realizing it, demanding "perfection" from themselves, not knowing that they were already perfect and worthy of love. They were taking care of their partner, parents, work, and friends first, leaving them with the measly crumbs that were left over. They spent their life giving away their time and energy, wondering why they were always so exhausted. She is an autodidact and taught herself to love who she is and work with her whole being, which is why she helps humans understand the ways their childhood programmed them to feel less-than, searching, lost, and rolling around in codependent and perfectionist thinking.
Maria Victoria is the host of the Feminist Wellness podcast, and holds a master's degree in public health from Boston University School of Public Health and a BA in Latin American Studies from Oberlin College. Victoria has been working in health and wellness for over 20 years.
